HOW ARE PURCHASES MADE?
For each meal or à la carte purchase, you present your Stout
Blue Card where the appropriate amount will be electronically
subtracted from your account. Your Baseline account balance,
both Dining and Plus funds, will be displayed each time a
purchase is made.
Because the only access to your account is via your Stout Blue
Card, it is mandatory you present your card to the cashier each
time you make a purchase with your account. If you do not have
your Stout Blue Card with you at the cash register (regardless of
the reason) alternative payment (cash payment or being treated
by another account holder) at cash prices will be required.
• Stout Blue Cards are non-transferable for your protection
MAY YOU TREAT GUESTS IN DINING LOCATIONS
USING YOUR BASELINE PLAN?
Yes, you may treat guests using your Baseline account funds. In
the cafeterias the guests’ charge will be based on their
Baseline Plan participation or non-participation. The guest must
possess and present a valid Stout Blue Card in order to verify
plan participation. If the guest is not a plan holder their
charges will be at the special guest price in the cafeteria.
WHAT OTHER CAMPUS DINING LOCATIONS
ACCEPT BASELINE PLAN FUNDS?
The Baseline Plan is designed for maximum flexibility on
campus. In addition to cafeteria meals, all other University
Dining Service operations accept Baseline funds. Look inside
this brochure for an overview of these operations.
DIETARY CONCERNS
UDS employs a Registered Dietition to assist students with
special dietary needs, nutrition issues, or food allergies. The
dietition can be reached at 715-232-3599 or can be e-mailed
from the UDS web site: www.uwstout.edu/dining. This service is
free to Baseline Plan participants.

BASELINE BOARD PLAN 2015 - 2016
• PRICE COMMONS – South Campus
Primary dining location for these residence halls: South,
North, Hansen, Keith, Milnes, Chinnock, Curran, Kranszusch,
Tustison, Oetting, Antrim, Froggatt, and McCalmont.
• NORTH POINT DINING – North Campus
Primary dining location for these residence halls: Hovlid,
Fleming, Wigen and Red Cedar Hall.
The University requires that all residence hall students participate
in a Baseline Plan. Students on both South and North Campus are
free to choose from any of the four buy-in levels listed below in
Chart A. The plan is issued on a per semester basis.
BASELINE BOARD PLAN COST | (SEE CHART A)
Cost for the Baseline Plan is broken into two parts:
BOARD FEE – This is a per semester cost paid by each student
living in the residence halls. It is used to meet non-food operating
costs. These costs include such things as: mortgage/rent, utilities,
labor, supplies, maintenance, insurance, and administrative overhead.
The dining locations are maintained to offer each resident the
opportunity to obtain high-quality, nutritious, traditional meals.
DINING FUNDS – These are the initial funds deposited in your
Baseline Plan account and are accessed with your Stout Blue Card.
The funds are used to make purchases of food at any UDS operation
on campus. Baseline Plan participants pay only food cost for cafeteria
meals at either Commons or North Point cafeteria locations but will
pay full cash price at other dining locations.
CHOOSE YOUR PLAN
WHAT BASELINE BOARD PLAN IS BEST FOR YOU?
WHAT IF YOU HAVE EXTRA BASELINE DINING
FUNDS?
It is suggested that you select the plan which comes closest to
your needs but does not exceed them. You can deposit
additional funds throughout the semester. Unused Baseline
funds do carry forward for use the next semester.
Unused Baseline dining funds carry forward each semester.
These funds become Baseline Plus funds (see description
below) and are then useable at both dining and non-dining
locations.
When choosing a plan, consider how often you will eat in the
cafeteria dining location, and how often you may be eating
outside the cafeteria at our à la carte (items priced individually)
locations.
Based on a recent typical semester of activity, on average, a
student spends $245 for cafeteria meals at the reduced price
and $158* for dining at à la cart locations. This is a total of
$403 per semester. This is very close to Plan 4. Students who
consider themselves average may want to start with Plan 4.
Where you dine is the most important factor besides frequency
of dining when you select a plan. Dining at the cafeterias
(Commons and North Point) the majority of the time is the most
economical use of the plan.
The table below can assist you in estimating the appropriate
level of dining funds. To use, enter the number of times a week
you may eat at each meal time. Then extend this for the 15
weeks of the semester and add up the total. Next add on the
estimated à la carte purchases you anticipate (see averages
above).

WHAT IF YOU RUN LOW ON BASELINE FUNDS?
Additional funds may be deposited throughout the semester:
ONLINE DEPOSITS
Online deposits can be made by the student or other
individuals, such as parents, using a major debit/credit card
(MasterCard, Visa, American Express & Discover). The website
for this option is www.uwstout.edu/services/campuscard.
Select “Log Onto: MyAccount.” Students will then select “Sign
In,” then log in using their username and password. Parents
will select “Make a Guest Deposit” then enter last name and
the student’s email address.
AUTOMATED AND FULL SERVICE STATIONS
Cash deposits can be a minimum of $1.00 at automated
deposit machines. Cash, check, and debit/credit cards can
be used at the Campus Card office to make deposits with a
$10.00 minimum.
STUDENT FEE ACCOUNT CHARGE
Deposits may also be charged to the Student University Fee
account (subject to credit approval) with a minimum charge
of $25.00.
BASELINE PLUS FUNDS
All residence hall students are given the option to deposit funds
as Baseline Plus funds at the start of, and throughout, the
semester.
Plus funds allow students to make purchases at many
additional on-campus locations outside of dining. A number of
non-food purchases are made by students for items such as
books/supplies, laundry facilities, computer lab work, copies,
recreation, etc.
Plus funds are also useable in dining locations after “dining
only” funds are expended. Baseline Plan holders always receive
Baseline pricing in cafeterias even when paying with Baseline
Plus funds during each semester of participation.
