DESCRIPTION:
Communication holds a critical place in the design process. No design will progress until
clearly communicated to all necessary constituents. Communication takes the form of
written, graphic, and oral. For this assignment, we will focus on aspects of the written and
oral communication processes. Read Chapter 14 in the text.
1. Think about the aspects you think should be included in your team’s critical design
review. As this is the meeting where your design will be critiqued prior to the final
portfolio turn in, the presentation will provide all critical information on your design.
2. An important aspect of any project is to continuously inform upper management on the
project progress. This exercise allows the teams to brief the instructor on the
project to date. Include accomplishments, concerns, and projections.
DELIVERABLES:
1. Individually consider your team’s final design and prepare an outline for your critical
design review. This outline should address all key components of the presentation. The
outline should be electronically created in Word or similar software, and then printed
with your name, course, and section number in the upper left hand side of the paper.
Your work will be shared with your teammates in class prior to it being turned in.
2. As a team, prepare a progress report for your final project. Use page 386 in the text
as a guideline. Expectation is AT LEAST one page. You need only one report per team.
