Objective
As a Physician Assistant, I am employed as an assistant professor and Program Director,
within the department of Physician Assistant studies at the Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. I teach for the purposes of educating and training
students at the highest level of academic standards, and to share my academic, clinical, and
educational experience to help students successfully meet the medical demands of
Appalachia. As Program Director, I strive to develop and maintain the highest standards of
academic curriculum, meeting the educational needs of the students and future clinicians
while ensuring the public has access to quality physician assistant providers.

As the Program Director I am responsible for managing and implementing all aspects of the
Physician Assistant Program. I oversee the budget, faculty, staff, curriculum, accreditation,
relations, federal grant, and outcomes assessments.
1/2012 – 6/2013
Associate Program Director, Physician Assistant Program,
Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
As the associate program director, I was responsible for monitoring our programs adherence
to accreditation standards, collecting data for the improvement of the program and ensuring
that the accreditation standards are met. In addition, I was responsible for student
progression both academically and professionally and chaired the student progress
committee. I assisted the program director with budgetary, faculty, staff supervision and
support. Additionally I sat on several committees related to this position.
3/2011 – 12/2011 Director of Didactic Curriculum, Physician Assistant Program,
Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
As director of the didactic curriculum, I was responsible for the development, maintenance,
and implementation of the academic curriculum and its components within the physician
assistant education program. This included coordinating courses and instructors,
monitoring student progress, ensuring adherence to ARC-PA standards, guaranteeing quality
evidence based medical education, and promoting skills, knowledge and professionalism
required by the successful clinician. Additionally, I chaired the PA curriculum committee,
sat on the new faculty search committee, and reviewed proposed or potential texts.
11/2010-Current Assistant Professor, Physician Assistant Program, Lincoln Memorial
University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine
As a full time academic instructor within the physician assistant program, I develop and
deliver evidence based medical lectures, coordinate blocks of coursework, develop written
examinations, teach clinical exam skills, case studies, simulation labs, and objective
simulated clinical exams. Administratively, I interview potential candidates for admission
to the program, serve on the student progress committee, and mentor students and monitor
their progress. I interact and work with other PA faculty and staff as well as medical school
staff and administration.
2001-2002 Instructor of Human Gross Anatomy Laboratory, James Madison

While continuing PA education, I served as an assistant professor of undergraduate gross
anatomy laboratory for two academic semesters. My responsibilities included direct
student interaction and instruction on cadavers, models and diagrams, formulation and
grading of examinations and quizzes, monitoring student progress, and interacting and
working with other faculty members of the anatomy department.

2012-2013 Emergency Medicine Provider, Twin County Regional Hospital
PRN provider of Emergency services to a facility recently implementing Physician Assistant
coverage.
2007-2010 Emergency Medicine Provider, Southside Community Hospital
I worked as a full time provider in a community emergency department. I obtained medical
histories, performed problem oriented physical exams, ordered and interpreted diagnostic
laboratory and radiology evaluations, performed invasive and therapeutic procedures,
formulated diagnoses, implemented care plans, communicated with attending on-call
physicians, and from time to time instructed local students in health care education. I also
served as the lead PA with administrative duties such as scheduling, recruiting, and training
new Physician Assistants.
8/2007 - 10/2007
ENT Provider, North Arkansas Ear Nose and Throat
This was a full time clinical practice in which I was a provider in training. I was being
trained in intra-operative assistance, post-operative evaluation and care, and in office
evaluation and care of common ENT disorders, including the use of examination microscope
and OAE evaluation.
2003-2007 Emergency Medicine Provider, Danville Regional Medical Center
My first clinical position was as a full time provider in a large community emergency
department. I obtained medical histories, performed problem oriented physical exams,
ordered and interpreted diagnostic laboratory and radiology evaluations, performed invasive
and therapeutic procedures, formulated diagnoses, implemented care plans, and
communicated with attending on-call physicians. Additionally, I assisted in the instruction
of 3rd year osteopathic students in clinical emergency medicine, as well as physician
assistants new to emergency medicine..
Volunteer Experience
2005 Volunteer - Medical Ministries International
For two weeks in October, I participated as physician assistant in providing free medical and
surgical care in Armenia. After weeks of careful planning, myself, two surgeons, a
pediatrician, a Nurse Anesthetist, and several nurses traveled to a small town in southern
Armenia. Here we worked with local physicians and surgeons providing free medical and
surgical care. My duties included obtaining medical histories, first assisting the surgeons in
the operating room, participating in post-operative care, and coordinating travel and
personnel.
