CHAPTER 10 - PESTICIDE STORAGE
12 - STORAGE PROCEDURES. Specific instructions are given in Chapter 10,
Section 13 for permanent storage of highly toxic pesticides or large inventories of
pesticides (quantities greater than 200 gallons or 400 pounds), and for temporary
storage of lesser amounts, Chapter 10, Section 14. Permanent storage of small
quantities of pesticides will conform to the general instructions of Chapter 10,
Section 12, and will, in addition, as a minimum, meet the following standards:
1. Pesticides shall be stored separately from nonpesticide materials. A
separate building or shed is not always necessary.
2. The storage area must be secure and locked when not in use.
3. The storage area shall have an appropriate sign designating it as a
pesticide storage area.
4. The phone number of the nearest Poison Control Center shall be posted
in a prominent place in the storage area.
5. The local firefighting organization shall be notified of the location of the
storage site.
