CCRP OVERVIEW
INTRODUCTION
One of the goals of the Compensation/Classification Redesign Project (CCRP) is to develop new job
specifications and a new classification structure. To create new job specifications, the project team will
need to review all current Administrative and Staff position descriptions. Managers will need to add a
job summary and update the position descriptions to reflect the duties employees are currently
performing.
JOB SUMMARY
Job Summary is a new field in FIU’s position description format. It is a general overview that describes
the nature and purpose of the job - it answers the question, ‘Why does this position exist?’ More
importantly, the job summary can be used to describe the strategic value of the position or its
importance to the organization's business.
ELECTRONIC POSITION REQUEST FORM (ePRF)
Managers will use the Electronic Position Request Form (ePRF) to update their direct reports’ position
descriptions. Managers are encouraged to review any updates to the position description with their
employees prior to submitting.
