Deadline to Complete CPUs
 Departments will have until Friday, May 9, 2014
to submit updated position descriptions (CPUs)
 Update by Business Unit will be provided at the
May 15 HR Liaisons Meeting
Position Slotting
 Compensation and the Mini-Team Leads will slot
positions into the appropriate job classifications
 In order to slot positions appropriately,
Departments must have completed their position
description updates
Next Steps
 Liaisons review the list of positions that need to
be updated based on the CCRP Report in
SharePoint
 Mercer (FIU’s consultant) will begin market
pricing selected job specifications identified as
‘benchmark jobs’
 New salary structures will be developed and
proposed based on the market pricing
 Job specifications will be slotted into proposed
pay grades based on market value
Next Steps
 Compensation will meet with Department heads
to review updated positions and proposed
classification titles
 Goal is to establish an updated classification
structure with job specifications assigned job
codes and filed with the State of Florida’s
Division of Retirement
