Job description
As part of an administration team based at our central office, you will play a vital role
in MEI’s operation, supporting MEI’s marketing and communication activities, and
also general support to the administration team. Your work will involve a variety of
tasks including liaising with people within and external to MEI.
Main duties and responsibilities
Marketing activities
• Managing MEI’s stock of printed materials.
• Coordinating the printing of MEI’s externally printed materials, including
promotional literature and teaching and learning resources. This involves liaising
with external print suppliers.
• Preparing promotional literature and other marketing collateral for use at
conferences and other events.
• Receiving and sorting surplus materials returned to the MEI office after events.
• Gathering, maintaining and analysing marketing data.
• Preparing and issuing direct mailings via email and post.
• Supporting the organisation of MEI’s annual conference and other events.
General administration
• Maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
• Processing subscriptions, creating and managing user accounts for Integral
online resources.
• Editing and maintaining the content of the FMSP and MEI websites.
• Responding to requests for information by phone and email.
• Other work of a similar nature, as required.

Previous experience of general administration would be an advantage.
IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.
The confidence and ability to work flexibly and on your own initiative.
The desire and commitment to provide excellent service.
Able to provide effective support and advice by e-mail and telephone, with a good
standard of English and a confident and courteous manner.
Functionally numerate, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to plan, prioritise and organise own work, and to use initiative in solving
problems.
Able to work well as part of a team and willing to support others with a wide range
of tasks.
Self-motivated. Quick to learn and willing to develop new skills.
Willing and able to undertake occasional visits to other locations.
Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage, as would experience
of working in an educational setting and an interest in mathematics and/or
education.
