The Task
State-of-the-art process control is extremely
safe today. Nevertheless, failures are possible
at any time – and are costly, too, if they impact
production. For this reason, the speed and
expertise of specialists is absolutely vital.
Our Solution
More than 40 seasoned experts, using the most
modern data communications technology and
with direct access to development know-how
and knowledge-based databases, perform
remote inspections and corrective measures
for electrical equipment, field systems and I&C
from Siemens.
1) Calls from all over the world come in
to the Call Desk. A "case" is opened
for each incident and forwarded to
the appropriate specialists.
Upon receipt of the fault report, the system
specialists immediately dial into the customer
system and commence troubleshooting; effectively, on site and without delay. Depending
on the nature of the malfunction, teams of
experts are set up who use their specialist
knowledge to significantly speed up analysis
and fault location.
However, if it should prove impossible to solve
the problem via remote access, the REC activates the on-site task force and spare parts
service.
In addition, the REC offers a comprehensive
preventive service designed to avoid faults
before they occur. Continuous training, covering all detailed aspects of the system, backed
up by the constant exchange of experience
ensures a consistently high level of expertise.
Therefore, malfunctions occurring within the
power plant can be rectified far more quickly
or even prevented entirely.
The Remote Expert Center offers the problemsolving skills of highly qualified experts as a
bundled and centralized service package. Due
to our global service network, the REC's entire
service can be charged on a flat-rate basis to
provide a highly cost-efficient solution.
2) The system specialist logs into the
plant and commences fault recovery
action.
3) If even greater expertise is needed,
the development department is
called in.
