1.
Can the program plan and supporting budget be shared at this time?
Answer: We will not be sharing any additional planning, budget, or drawing information at this time.
2.
Is the stated budget of $11.2M intended to include the Student Health and Counseling Services?
Answer: No, the Rec Center expansion total project budget is approximately $11.2M. The Student
Health and Counseling Service (Wellness Center) portion of the budget is an additional $3.1M. If the
Wellness Center is approved by the Board of Regents, the total project budget (including fees,
equipment, contingency, etc.) will be approximately $14.3M.
3.
Does the Cover Letter count against the 30 page limit for the RFP Response?
Answer: Yes
4.
Does the Bonding Letter and Acknowledgement Form count against the 30 page limit.
Answer: No
5.
If we elect to insert tabs into the document to help identify sections in the response, does this
count against the 30 page limit?
Answer: Tabs do not count against the 30 page limit.
6.
Will the covers, bond letter, and forms be included in the page count?
Answer: The tabs, covers, bond letter and Acknowledgement Form do not count against the 30 page
limit.
7.
Why are additional lockers required?
Answer: During peak times there is not enough space in the locker rooms. The rooms are too small,
don’t have enough lockers to rent, and don’t have enough showers to support our increased use.
8.
Will contractor parking be available in the new garage?
Answer: Subject to availability, contractors may purchase parking permits to use the garage for our
standard parking permit rates. We anticipate 150+ spaces in the garage will be available. The Rec
Center parking lot will be used by students until it is taken out of service for construction. During
construction we intend to maintain a few accessible parking stalls at the north end of the garage for
building visitors. If not using the garage, contractors must find their own off-site resources for parking
and shuttle workers to the site. UCCS will make Lot 15 along north Nevada available for worker parking
during construction at no charge, but contractors must shuttle their own workers to the site.
9.
The GM/GC Agreement indicates that funding is secure for portions of the project. Please clarify.
Answer: Funding of the Rec Center expansion portion of the project has been secured and the project
has been approved by the Board of Regents. Funding for the Wellness Center portion of the project
depends upon Student approval of a fee increase which is to be voted upon in the spring of 2014.
10.
The stated page limit is 30 pages. Does 30 pages mean: 30 sheets of paper that can be printed
double-sided for a 60-face total, or 30 page faces (one sheet printed double-sided equals two pages)?
Answer: 30 pages means 30 face-pages; a single sheet of paper printed on both sides would count as
two pages. See above answers regarding page limits.
11.
Are there any exemptions to your page limit, such as Acknowledge & Attest Form, cover sheets,
samples of actual products, bonding letter, table of contents, etc?
Answer: See answers above.
12.
Is it the intention of the committee to review electronic submittals on a computer monitor, or
will the submittals be printed and reviewed as hard copies? (we would format our response a little
differently if it was only going to be viewed on a monitor)
Answer: Both will be done -- most of the committee will review the proposals on their computer
monitors, but a few will review the hard copy.
