EDUCATIONAL DIAGNOSTICIAN, PRE K-12
 Bachelor's AND Master’s Degree (earned from a regionally accredited college/university)
 Minimum of 30 semester hours in an Educational Diagnostician or School Psychology
program including an internship. The internship may be substituted with 2 years of verified
employment as an educational diagnostician or special education teacher if the program
completed did not include an internship
 A valid NM teaching,
counseling, or professional
licensure in another area
of instructional support
OR
 Verification of 3 years experience in one or a
combination of: work in community-based
programs serving developmentally disabled
children/adults, mental health work related
to educational diagnosis, clinical practice
related to educational diagnosis, vocational
evaluation and teaching
 Passage of the New Mexico Teacher Assessment (NMTA)
Content Knowledge Assessment (CKA) in Educational Diagnosis OR
NASP Certification OR
CEDS Certification
