FTEART2 - (Arts Performance Project)
Credits: Drama Production (ADD3M/30) and Co-op (ADD30C)
(Prerequisite: Grade 9 or 10 Art, Music or Drama credit)
APP2 is an innovative, production-based Arts program for grade 11 students with a
keen interest in art, music, theatre and design. Students will produce the annual Theatre
Norwell Production by participating as an actor, technician, and/or artist/designer.
Students will experience authentic learning in all areas of theatre production and move
towards graduating with an Arts and Culture SHSM seal. This 2 credit bundle includes
ADD3M, a production-focus arts course and ADD3MC, a production-focus Co-op
course with a work placement at Theatre Norwell. Areas of study will include:





Art/Design/Photography
Fashion/Costume Design
Dramatic Performances
Music/Vocals
Dance/Choreography
Theatre Tech - lighting; sound; stage management
Theatre Production – design; marketing and promotions
The Co-op credit will cover all aspects of the co-op curriculum, with a work placement
connected to the Theatre Norwell production. Students will be expected to log
workplace hours in all facets of the production and learn the creative process of building
a show from technical, performance, and artistic perspectives. Co-op placement hours
will be flexible, including evenings and weekends. A schedule of co-op workplace hours
will be provided at the beginning of the semester.
*As some co-op hours will be logged outside school hours, only senior students (gr. 11 or 12) may apply
for this program. *NOTE: All students are welcome to join Theatre Norwell as an extracurricular activity.
The play is not exclusive to those in this course.
