NIRSA NCCS Regional Flag Football Tournament SPORTS OFFICIALS INFORMATION There are limited spots available for officials who would like to work this tournament. We are looking for the very best your institution has to offer. If you have any officials who are interested, please have them submit a completed Officials Interest Form. We need to receive the form no later than Wednesday, October 19, 2011. An official invitation will be emailed to all officials by Monday, October 24, 2011. Tournament Information We will determine the number of officials needed for the tournament. All schools that have an official(s) apply from Region 4 are guaranteed one spot. All non-guaranteed spots will be selected as at-large bids, decided upon by tournament administration and Director of Officials. Official’s workshop Friday, November 4, 2011 @ 11:00a. Location at the SFA Student Recreation Center meeting room. All officials will be given a staff t-shirt and staff gift. Officials need to bring black pants, black shorts, black shoes, collared striped shirt, black or piped hat, flags, bean bags, down indicators, and whistles. o White knickers and high school striped socks are potentially worn for championship games if the entire crew has them. Officials will receive $9.00 / game officiated. o Officials will NOT be used for scorekeeping and recording stats. o Officials will be paid by university, so checks will be mailed after the tournament. Lodging will be provided (four officials per room). Meals will be provided for Friday lunch and dinner, Saturday all meals, and Sunday breakfast and lunch. Hospitality tent throughout the tournament. Written evaluations and verbal feedback from evaluators. Tournament Bids: Three (3) regional officials will receive bids to the NIRSA National Tournament. A small travel stipend will be provided to the four selected officials. The NIRSA National tournament will be held at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX the week of January 4-6, 2012. Turn right out of hotel onto South Street and go north 2. South Street turns into North Street when you hit downtown. Stay straight on North Street. 3. Turn RIGHT onto East Starr (university starts 1 block down Starr on your left). Stay on Starr until you pass tennis complex on left – turn LEFT onto Wilson Dr. 4. Park in Lot 53 or on Wilson Dr. next to tennis complex, just south of Student Rec Center SFA will be paying for your accommodations for the weekend. Checking In 1. You will be asked for a credit card to cover any damages or charges to the rooms. SFA will not cover any damages or charges made to the room, so take care of anything yourself. 2. Check in will begin at 3p, however, games begin at roughly the same time, so you will not be able to check in until games are over. Checking Out 1. All personal items will need to be taken out of your rooms Sunday morning before heading to the fields. 2. DO NOT EXPECT TO LEAVE SUNDAY TO GO BACK AND PACK YOUR ROOM.
