Course Objectives:
Please refer to Advance 1 Teaching Goal - IQ Chinese 400 Lessons 2-8
Student Learning Outcomes:
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand, interpret,
apply and communicate the following ideas:
1. Be able to talk about school’s subjects and learning progress
2. Be able to use “什麼都….” To sum up a group of similar items
3. Be able to use negative tags “沒” and “不” appropriately
4. Be able to use “Adj+地+verb” to describe an action
5. Be able to state the date, week, month and year
6. Be able to offer friends’ birthday wishes
7. Use “更” to express adjectives in varying degrees
8. Be able to name some common pets
9. Be able to describe what is needed to take care of small animals
10. Be able to name various school or public holidays
11. Be able to describe travel plans and to share vacation experiences
12. Be able to express an inability to complete a task due to certain constraints
13. Be able to name the different rooms in home
14. Be able to state the functions of different rooms
15. Be able to indicate the completion of an action
16. Be able to identify the tableware and other features of Chinese and Western dining
17. Be able to use “把…” to describe the action imposed on an object and the result of that
action on the object
18. Be able to use appropriate measure words on various items of tableware
19. Be able to state the mode of transportation one would like to use to travel to one’s
destination
20. Be able to express the sequence of two events
21. Be able to use “才” to state that a result can only be achieved under certain conditions
Required textbook:
IQ Chinese 400 Lessons 2-8
Course Policy:
Students are encouraged to read the assigned textbook chapters thoroughly. Utilized IQ
Chinese 400 CD – listen to the chants and dialog, type words/sentences in “Word” and
“Sentence”. Finish the homework including both written and recording homework.
