• The meaning of yellow is a symbol of generosity

• The meaning of red is hardiness, bravery, strength & Valour

• The meaning of blue is vigilance, truth and loyalty, perseverance & justice.

• The population in 2010 is 45,791,358.

• The population has increased a lot over the past year.

• The government of Colombia is a liberal democracy with separation of power into executive, judicial, and legislative branches. This is the president of

Colombia.

– The resources of Colombia are minerals, cattle, manufacturing trade, coffee and oil.

Religion

• Catholicism was the official religion

• 75% remain Catholicism but only

25% go to church.

• 90% of the people in Colombia identify their religion as Catholics

10% have different types.

• Roman catholic is 90%and the other is 10%.

Food

• The Colombian food is basically what we have in

North Carolina.

• Bandeja Paisa this is a type of food that is on a plate which is steak fried pork rind sausage rice and beans sweet bananas chips fried egg and sliced avocado.

• The soup you see is traditional for Colombians.

• Carnivals are celebrated all through the year. Festivals are celebrated mostly about

• Rock at the park is the second largest festival in Colombia. Bogota Carnival is the summer carnival that is celebrated a lot during the summer. It has dancing and parades.

Geographical info

The continental territory of the Republic of Colombia is in the North West of

South America on the equatorial line.

The country stretches as far North as it does South from the equator, though the majority of Colombian territory is located in the Northern

Hemisphere. Colombia enjoys both the Caribbean and Pacific Ocean.

The most northerly point being Punta

Gallinas in the Guajira Peninsula which is also the most northerly point of the South American Continent.

• The demographics is high for Colombia it is 93% that means that they must have good schools, good wealth also good teachers to teach them. That is for females 15 and older. The urban population is 74% in 2008 and the rate of urbanization is 1.7%.
