The Foundation for Edmonds School District raises and distributes funds in support of all students’ learning in
partnership with the Edmonds School District.
Creative Classroom Project Application & Guidelines
February 1, 2016
For more than 30 years the Foundation for Edmonds School District (The Foundation) has funded
creative classroom projects designed by teachers to increase learning and actively engage students
through innovative, enriching practices. Do you have an idea on how to enhance student learning? You
are encouraged to apply!
Award amounts:
Up to $500 for one educator and up to $1,000 total for two or more educators
collaborating on a project.
Application deadline: Friday, March 18, 2016 by 4:00 p.m. Incomplete, unsigned applications and
applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.
Funding timelines:
Funds will be available July 1, 2016 and must be spent by May 1, 2017.
Selection criterion:
Each application will be scored based on the following criteria:
 Project directly supports student learning.
 Application clearly describes specific student outcomes and how success of
the project will be measured.
 Outcomes are tied to the district’s strategic indicators
 Learning activities are creative and encourage active student participation.
 Budget is complete, accurate and supports proposed activities.
 Please see attached scoring rubric.
The Foundation seeks to fund a wide range of projects across the K-12 continuum. Each proposal is
evaluated based on the current application and projects that received grant awards in years past are not
guaranteed funding.
Requirements:
 Complete Application, no more than 4 pages including cover page and budget
description.
 Application must have principal’s signature.
 Awardee or their designee attend the Foundation’s annual grant awards
ceremony (date tbd).
 All grant recipients agree to acknowledge the Foundation’s funding in at least 2
specific ways, and will complete a project evaluation by the end of the 20162017 school year. Failure to do so will prevent approval of future Foundation
classroom grant applications.

All recipients of Classroom Grant Awards are to complete and submit the following evaluation form by the end of the
2016 -2017 school year. Failure to do so will result in non-approval of future grant applications.
