The purpose of this lesson is to introduce and teach students about the major
physical components (oceans) of the world. In this lesson the students will
study the oceans via power point and take a quiz at the end.

Learning Objective: The student will identify the five oceans on earth using a
blank table with 100% accuracy.
•
Content Standard: Social Studies, Earth Oceans and Components
•
Accomplishment: Each student will familiarize themselves with the location of
each ocean and the continents that surround each ocean.

• Pacific Ocean (The pacific is next to the left of
California. The Pacific Ocean has two parts as
well, the north and south)
• Indian Ocean (The Indian ocean is between
the continents Africa and Asia)

• Southern Ocean (The Southern Ocean is at the
bottom of the earth, right above Antarctica)
