GREEN ZONES – Allowed always.
Classroom Conduct
 Students are expected to report to class on time and be ready to work.
 Pencils may be sharpened upon entering the classroom.
 The only materials allowed on the tables are materials needed for this class. All other materials including book
bags, pocket books, lunch bags, other text books, etc. must be placed in the back of the room, on the floor upon
entering the classroom. The chair pockets may be used for small, essential classroom materials not in use for more
table space.
 Students must remain in their assigned seats, working until the bell rings. Chairs may not be moved from their
spot unless otherwise stated by the teacher.
 Talking is permitted only during designated times. Talking while others are talking is not permitted.
 Sleeping in class and/or putting head on table (including lounging on table top or books) will not be permitted.
 Students leaving class for any reason must have a signed clipboard or LSHS approved note. The ideal time for
bathroom use and/or business is before and after class. Students will have 5 times per semester to leave class
for any reason and are expected to return in a timely manner with a note if applicable. Abuse of this will result in
loss of privileges. All doctor’s notes must be on file.
 Room equipment is strictly off limits. THE SEWING MACHINES/EQUIPMENT (unless we are using them
in a sewing lab), MY DESK, MICROWAVE, REFRIDGERATOR, CABINETS, and BEHIND THE
CURTAIN are OFF LIMITS. No one uses the machines during a presentation, or content delivery.
Unauthorized usage will result in disciplinary actions.

language, grooming, eating, etc. The classroom is a learning environment Only.

bottles when not in use, and placed on the floor. Do not practice drinking near or around sewing equipment. IF
YOU BREAK IT - YOU BOUGHT IT!
 CELL PHONES and other ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE NOT PERMITTED FOR PERSONAL USE.
Unauthorized usage will result in disciplinary action.
Assignments
 All class assignments/projects/homework must be completed by the due dates assigned and must be placed in
the designated area by the end of class or time given by the teacher. Any late assignments will be deducted 10 pts.
2
for every day late, unless otherwise stated by the teacher.
Make-up Work
Classroom discussions, programs and any group instruction, once missed, can never be completely recovered or
made up. However, a student is allowed to make-up his/her work, so far as possible, when he/she has missed
school for illness or emergency, or which is classified under the board of education attendance policy.
Immediately upon his/her return to school he should complete a Make-up Request Form. I will
approve/disapprove the request, return to you, and you attach it to your assignment. Except in cases of prolonged
illness, make-up work must be completed within five (5) days after a student returns to school. The burden of
responsibility of completing make-up work, of course, rest entirely upon the student rather than the teacher.
 If you are absent the day before a test, you will still be required to take the test as scheduled. If you miss a
test or quiz, you should make this up within 1 week! Please note that missing work cannot be made up
during class and must be completed during Tutorial. Students in ISS (In school suspension) or time out on
test or quiz days must make up work/assignments before, after school or during Tutorial. If work is due on
the day a student is in ISS, the student MUST turn in the work to the ISS teacher that day. Otherwise the
work will be treated as a late assignment deducting 10 points from the grade for each day late.
Zero “0” Policy
The Zero Tolerance Policy has been established to:
1. Hold all students accountable for completing class assignments.
2. Keep parents informed of sudden changes in their child's academic performance.
3. Decrease the number of failures due to students not turning in assignments.
Upon the student's 1st Zero on an assignment
The student will receive a zero recorded in PowerSchool for that assignment.
Upon the student's 2nd Zero on an assignment
The student will receive a zero recorded in PowerSchool for that assignment. The teacher will make a verbal contact to the
parent within 48 hours of the zero.
Upon the student 3rd Zero on an assignment
The student must receive a zero recorded in PowerSchool for that assignment. The teacher will arrange a
student/teacher/parent conference.
Order of Operations
 When you have completed your work for the day, if time permits, you may read, study, or work on other class
work until journal time (Last 5-10 min. of class.)
 Remain in your seat until you are dismissed BY ME. The bell is a signal for me to indicate the end of class;
however, students are expected to remain in their seats until dismissed. Also, please do not start packing before
class is over in anticipation of the bell as it is disrespectful.

The final exam for this course is a required VOCATS Exam, and will count 25% of the student's final semester average.
Substitute Procedure: In the event that I am absent and a sub is present, each student is expected to behave, complete all
assignments for the day and turn in by the end of class, and treat the sub with respect. Class will run as normal as if I
were here. Students that do not adhere to the rules will be dealt with when I return.
Field Trips: We will take field trips when relevant to course material. Field trips are not a required, but supplemental
at my discretion. Proper documentation must be obtained by all students for any off campus event. Students that
do not present proper documentation by the time of departure will be left in ISS with an alternate assignment.
Behavior is also in high regard. Any student not exhibiting appropriate behavior before the trip will not be
permitted to attend the event. If behavior is poor while off campus, parent will be contacted and possibly asked to
remove their child from the site of the event. Repeated inappropriate behavior will result in loss of privileges to
attend off campus events.
Notebook checks: Organization is essential to helping you do well in school. Random notebook checks will be made –
this could be the extra mark you need to pass this course, so don’t take it for granted!

Extra credit: There will be opportunities to receive extra credit. Be sure to participate in class activities, discussion,
cooperative groups, etc.
Major Projects: You will have projects to complete. When the project name and due date are given, use this space to
record them.
