Organise your own project, or work on an existing project
Organise your own project:
You can identify research areas of interest to you and then contact an academic staff
member as a potential supervisor, eg lecturers, course co-ordinators, program directors.
Scholars organising their own project would usually undertake a substantial piece of
supervised research work, which may result in a report/paper, possibly for publication.
Below is a list of EASS academics who have indicated they have existing projects and would
be happy to be contacted in relation to supervising a Research Vacation Scholar

Areas of interest: The Hawke EU Centre for Mobilities, Migrations and Cultural
Transformations seeks to develop dialogue and cooperation between the European
community and Australia in regards to matters of migration, asylum and refugee protection.
A special focus of the centre concerns the field of migration, asylum and protection issues,
and related matters arising in the pursuance of the protection of citizens; the safeguarding
of rights; the preservation of borders; and related matters of security and justice.
The EU Centre would also like to hear from Media and Communications students interested
in developing their skills with news and events, social media, website development and
copy. The Centre is required to negotiate its relationships between the European Union, the
University, and local community groups and they would be keen for scholars to develop
these relationships by undertaking research and projects related to the branding and
communication of the centre with their outward-facing partners.
