Objective
(State the main objectives of the task. What do you seek to determine?)
Approach
(Explain how the objectives will be met. In this section, introduce the experimental setup that will
be used to gather data and the equations that will be used to proceed from your raw data to the
results. This section may take more than one page.)
Results and Discussion
(Use graphs and/or tables to display your results. Make sure to label these items
properly. When using graphs, label the axes with variable names and units. The
independent variable should always be on the x-axis and the dependent variable on
the y-axis. Then, briefly discuss the results, i.e., given the results obtained, how
should the results be interpreted to reach conclusions relevant to the experimental
objectives?)
Conclusions
(Use State what has been learned through the experiment with regards to each specific objective.
I repeat: be specific! It would be inadequate to conclude, “the results were good” or “we
achieved the goals of our experiment”. You must provide conclusive statements about your
initial inquiries. For example, if you wanted to find the calibration errors of a temperature
measurement device, you could conclude: “The linearity error of this device was 1% of full
scale. Hysteresis was 0.5% FS. Considering only these two sources of error, the overall error of
the device is 1.12% FS, or ± 2.2°C.”)
