Structural funds for Poland
The total Community funds allocated for
Poland for years 2004 to 2006 amount to
12,81 billion euro.
The total amount of funds (structural funds,
Cohesion Fund, national funds, private
funds) for the implementation of the
structural policy in Poland in years 20042006 will reach app. 19,2 billion euro.
Poland of the regions
Big money allocated in the regions
made them on the one hand more
responsible for the development of
their territories and on the other hand
more self-oriented. Consequently the
experience
coming
from
the
implementation of structural funds
including success stories is very often
hidden in the documents of the
regional administrators.
Problems in information
transfer/exchange between regions
We maintain daily monitoring of all 16
websites of Marshal Offices in Poland
as well as the central website run by
Ministry of Economy and Labour.
In
most
cases
they
launched
separate
sections
devoted
to
structural funds.
Problems in information
transfer/exchange between regions
In most cases the information they
deliver is patchy, and in most cases
focused on generating publicity for
the activities of the regional boards
rather than on disseminating useful
information for the current and future
structural funds users.
Importance of the information of
best practices
From our investigation both public
administrations
and
private
beneficiaries
wish
to
tap
into
experience that has been gained in
other regions.
Providing clear cut
examples on the types of projects
that have succeeded elsewhere and
how to apply for a grant, this project
– in potential – will speed up
investment and in the end will help to
speed up economic growth.
Best practices on
www.funduszeonline.pl
From our experience only the project
run by a professional private company
based on sound financial bases can
provide a structured and reliable
information
on
regionally
implemented
issues,
such
as
structural funds.

• General information on all structural funds
available in Poland as well as other grants
co-financed from EU money
• Grants database composed of easy-tounderstand fact sheets
• Daily updated news on grants and loans
• Good practice examples from old EU
member states and Polish success stories in
pre accession funds.
• Background information and advice on how
businesses and the community can influence
the deployment of structural funds at a
regional and local level.
Targeted content:
• 200 good practice examples of the
application of structural funds across Poland
containing programmes and funded projects
mapped to key objectives, activities, themes
and locations.
• Examples of individual expertise from
within publicly funded administrations and
companies in structural fund applications

support applications to structural funds
Conclusions
• Example projects that have been awarded a grant
from the structural funds will trigger local initiatives
contributing to strengthening local economies
• The supply of structural funds information will
require a big research effort for Smartlink as well as
building strong relations with public administrations
in the central government as well as regional
governments and regional development agencies
• It will require from Smartlink to balance paid and free
information available on the portal.
