Behavior: Students will learn how to use the 5
body positions while on stage.
 Conditions: Students will follow position
guidelines and kinesthetically model correct
usage.
 Criteria: After modeling, students will be able
to identify at least 3/5 positions with 100%
accuracy as per Class Work Rubric.




Full Front
• One
of the strongest and
most common of stage
positions.
•The entire body faces the
audience

Quarter Turn (1/4)
Fairly open positions that are
strong, but not as strong as
Full Front.
Mostly used with
conversations and dialouge.
Abbreviation: 1/4
Profile
Side to Side
Can express a wide
array of emotion;
anger, love,
confusion, etc…
Hard to hear at times
and see for members
of the audience.
Abbreviation: P
Three-Quarter Turn (3/4)
•Generally a weak
position.
•Audience will have a
hard time seeing and
hearing actor.
•Mostly used in closing
scenes or moments of
discovery.
•Abbreviation: 3/4
Full Back
•A compelling position that when
used appropriately can produce
dramatic results.
•Not used unless needed to display
specific emotions.
•Defeat, avoidance, dismissal,
etc…
