Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Meeting Called to Order at 1:35 p.m. by Sherry Flaherty

Report is from December 31, 2014 through February 28, 2015






Balance as of 12/31/14 was $15,543.20
Cash inflows for the period was $185 - mainly from Box Tops and Contributions.
Cash Outflows were $378 - mainly from Spirit wear.
Register balance of $15,351 as of Feb 28, 2015.
Bank balance as of Feb 28, 2015 is $15,851
Outstanding check for $500 for the Teen Arts Festival

This will be administered after approximately90% of the instructional year is completed and
will include:

Principal’s Report (Mr. Hough)
Recent PARCC testing overall went smoothly with minimal technical issues. The students did not
seem overwhelmed and put forth great effort. The split schedule (a.m. and p.m. sessions) also
proved to be successful.
The End of Year assessment (EOY) will consist of three days of testing: Day 1 (2 ELA 60 minutes
each) and Days 2 and 3 (mathematics).
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Fundraising
Box Tops(Sherry Flaherty)
 The January/February Box Tops Contest winners were the Orange team. Coppola’s
will generously donate pizza to the winners at a later date.

 $174.80 was collected in Box Tops. For the year we have a profit of $275.00.
Volunteers(Sherry Flaherty)
Two parents have graciously volunteered to chair the 8th Grade Promotion Dance, Robin LoRe
and Julie Arts.
The following chair positions remain open:


President – 2015/16
Corresponding Secretary – 2015/16
Other Business - BOE Liaison(Donna Zane)
Safe Routes to School (SRTS)





Remote drop off maps were presented and discussed with NP Police and Council
Walk/bike assessments to go home via email
Police will be monitoring the drop off situation
Idea for painting the curbs (proposed color would be green) for drop off/pick-up
locations was presented
Bike racks needed to accommodate students biking to/from school
Parent Forum on Wednesday, April 29th at 7 p.m. in Chorus Room. The topic for the evening is
“Helping Your Teen Develop Healthy Coping Skills for Life / Real Tips for positive Coping &
Successful Parenting”. More information to follow in the upcoming Friday Folder.
