Mr. Bernstein
MAIN TOPICS OF STUDY
 Limits
 Derivatives
 Integrals
 Slope Fields and Differential Equations(Formerly directional
fields)
 All of the topics will be examined graphically, numerically,
analytically, and verbally.
EXPECTATIONS
 Homework will be given on a nightly basis. All assignments will be posted
both on Google classroom and my website.
 Test will be administered as necessary. Some tests will be in class and some
will be take home.
 There will be essays and projects. These are used to reinforce topics covered
in class
 In late March, students will be required to stay after school on an agreed day
so that they may take a sample AP Exam. This is a 3 hour exam.
GRADING SYSTEM
 All work is due on the assigned day. If a student is out of school, have them
take pictures of the work and email it to me at mbernstein@hazlet.org. If work is
one day late, the grade will be reduced by 20%. No work will be accepted after
that and the grade will be a Zero.
 The rubric for this class is that 100% of the grade will be based on
test/quiz/essay/project. The second and fourth marking period will include a
midterm and final, which will be counted for 20% of that marking period grade.
RESOURCES
If students need help, they may come in the morning and some days after
school. I am here by 7:00 AM. I will not always answer the exact questions
that are due, but I will provide guidance to help them discover the answer on
their own. A late bus is available Monday through Thursday at 3:30, provided
that it is not a teacher workshop afternoon.
