(from Psalm 118)
Leader: The Lord is my
strength and my song;
People: Today He has
become my salvation!
Leader: Let sounds of victory
ring out in every church, let
sounds of victory be heard in
all the corners of the earth;
People: The Lord has done
mighty things! We shall not die
but live and with every breath
we will proclaim what the Lord
has done!
Leader: He is risen!
People: He is risen indeed
Christ the Lord is risen today
Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day
Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross
Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss
Alleluia!
Hymns of praise then let us sing,
Alleluia!
Unto Christ our heavenly king
Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave
Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save
Alleluia!
But the pains which he endured
Alleluia!
Our salvation have procured
Alleluia!
Now above the sky he’s king
Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing
Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Hearts to heav'n
and voices raise.
Sing to God a hymn
of gladness;
sing to God
a hymn of praise!
He who on the cross as Savior
for the world's salvation bled,
Jesus Christ, the King of Glory,
now is risen from the dead!
Now the i-ron bars are broken,
Christ from death
to life is born-Glorious life and life immortal
on this resurrection morn.
Christ has triumphed and
we conquer by His mighty
enterprise;
We with Him to life eternal
by His resurrection rise.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
the strife is o’er,
the battle done
now is the victor’s
triumph won
now be the song
of praise begun
Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
the powers of death
have done their worst
but Christ their legions
has dispersed
let shouts of
holy joy outburst
Alleluia!

THE TRUSTWORTHY RECORD OF
GOD’S WORD
Reader: The high point - the recurring
theme and grand climax in the great
symphony of the Gospel is the
resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! If
we subtract this from our message of
love and hope, we have nothing to say!
If Christ has not been raised, then our
preaching is in vain, and so is our faith.
But we have the testimony of God’s
Word, the witness of those who
touched and saw Jesus, and a faith
that is born in our hearts through the
Holy Spirit. Let us listen to the Word of
our Lord.
I Corinthians 15:1-8, 20-22
Let me now remind you, dear brothers
and sisters, of the Good News I
preached to you before. You welcomed
it then, and you still stand firm in it. It
is this Good News that saves you if you
continue to believe the message I told
you—unless, of course, you believed
something that was never true in the
first place.
I passed on to you what was most
important and what had also been
passed on to me. Christ died for our
sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was
buried, and he was raised from the
dead on the third day, just as the
Scriptures said. He was seen by Peter
and then by the Twelve. After that, he
was seen by more than 500 of his
followers at one time, most of whom
are still alive, though some have died.
Then he was seen by James and later
by all the apostles. Last of all, as
though I had been born at the wrong
time, I also saw him… But in fact,
Christ has been raised from the dead.
He is the first of a great harvest of all
who have died. So you see, just as
death came into the world through a
man, now the resurrection from the
dead has begun through another man.
Just as everyone dies because we
all belong to Adam, everyone who
belongs to Christ will be given new
life.

John 20:1-18
Early on Sunday morning, while it was
still dark, Mary Magdalene came to
the tomb and found that the stone had
been rolled away from the entrance.
She ran and found Simon Peter and the
other disciple, the one whom Jesus
loved.
She said, “They have taken the Lord’s
body out of the tomb, and we don’t
know where they have put him!” Peter
and the other disciple started out for
the tomb. They were both running, but
the other disciple outran Peter and
reached the tomb first. He stooped
and looked in and saw the linen
wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go
in.
Then Simon Peter arrived and went
inside. He also noticed the linen
wrappings lying there, while the cloth
that had covered Jesus’ head was
folded up and lying apart from the
other wrappings. Then the disciple
who had reached the tomb first also
went in, and he saw and believed—for
until then they still hadn’t understood
the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise
from the dead.
Then they went home. Mary was
standing outside the tomb crying,
and as she wept, she stooped and
looked in. She saw two whiterobed angels, one sitting at the
head and the other at the foot of
the place where the body of Jesus
had been lying. “Dear woman, why
are you crying?”
the angels asked her. “Because they
have taken away my Lord,” she replied,
“and I don’t know where they have put
him.” She turned to leave and saw
someone standing there. It was Jesus,
but she didn’t recognize him. “Dear
woman, why are you crying?” Jesus
asked her. “Who are you looking for?”
She thought he was the gardener.
“Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him
away, tell me where you have put him,
and I will go and get him.” “Mary!”
Jesus said. She turned to him and cried
out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for
“Teacher”). “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus
said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the
Father. But go find my brothers and tell
them,
‘I am ascending to my Father and
your Father, to my God and your
God.’”Mary Magdalene found the
disciples and told them, “I have
seen the Lord!” Then she gave
them his message.

Crown Him
with many crowns
the Lamb
upon His throne
hark how the heavenly
anthem drowns
all music but its own
awake, my soul,
and sing
of Him who died for you
and hail Him as your
matchless King
through all eternity
(Choir Only)
crown Him the Virgin's Son
the
God incarnate born
whose arm those
crimson trophies won
which now His brow adorn
fruit of the mystic rose
as of that rose the stem
the root whence
mercy ever flows
the
babe of bethlehem
crown Him the Lord
of Love
behold His hands and side
rich wounds,
yet visible above
in beauty glorified
no angel in the sky
can fully bear that sight
but downward bends
his burning eyes
at
mysteries so bright
crown Him the
Lord of Life
who triumphed
o'er the grave
and rose victorious
in the strife
for those He came to save
His glories now we sing,
Who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring
And lives that death may die.
