Step One: You will receive a cup of water from Ms.Broome. DO NOT DRINK/SMELL THE WATER!!!! (Some samples are tainted with a chemical
(sodium hydroxide aka lye) that will make you VERY sick if you don’t follow directions).
Step Two (Round 1): You will pour water from your cup into someone else’s and they will pour some back. Be sure that the water level is approximately the same when you are done. Record who you shared with in the chart below.
Step Three (Round 2): You will share with a different person than you did in step two. Again, record who you shared with in the chart below.
Step Four (Round 3): You will share with a different person than you did in step two or three. Again, record who you shared it with in the chart below.
Step Five: We will add another chemical to test if the infected sample exists in your cup. Write down if you have an infected sample or not. If you do, try to trace it back to the person that you received it from by discussing in class.

Diffusion Diagram (Draw out the diffusion pattern)
Infected?
In groups you will be assigned a type/s of distribution or diffusion and do the following:
Define the distribution pattern/s
Sketch the distribution/diffusion so you remember it, with the sketch include how your pattern represents the definition (you may use your book)
For each distribution, come up with an example from real life
Each group will physically arrange themselves or props to show the pattern called for to demonstrate for the rest of the class. (Make sure to take notes on the patterns that other groups present)
