Charles Laison class of 2018
Mario Pedraza class of 2019
We are very proud of these outstanding young men and their constant pursuit of
excellence.
Monday Night Tutorials
In an effort to help your student learn the importance of meeting deadlines, we
will continue Mandatory Tutorials this coming Monday, November 23. Parents,
please check with your student to see if they are assigned the Monday tutorial.
You should also be receiving an email from a CA teacher if your student has been
assigned. Bus service to Mustang - Panther Stadium will be available at the
conclusion of the tutorial. Students should arrive at Mustang – Panther Stadium
around 6:30pm.
Camp Carter: Get On My Level Event
All students with an 80 average in their high school and college classes and no
failing grades will be invited to a celebration at Ft. Worth YMCA Camp Carter with
zip lining, rock wall climbing, cook-out and many other exciting activities. We
want all students to have an opportunity to go to attend.

STUCO is hosting a canned food drive to help supply the GRACE pantry over the
holidays. Each teacher is competing to see who can gather the most items
by December 11th. Please help us to support GRACE by reminding your student
to bring the following items:
Canned fruit and vegetables, chicken broth, sugar, flour, gravy mixes, pancake
mixes, cranberry sauce and cooking oil.
STUCO News
The Grapevine Parade of Lights is Thursday, December 3. We are still looking for
a 53’ trailer or something float worthy. Please let us know ASAP if you have a
connection to one. We have a driver, but we need a trailer! The students are
working tirelessly to create an awesome float!! It will be great night.
Ice Skating
Over 40 students attended our first ever ice skating night at NyTex Sports Center.
No broken bones and everyone had a great time! Movie Night is coming in
January with Karaoke included by popular demand! Who will win this year?
Phoenix Basketball
Our coed Phoenix basketball team played Collegiate South on Saturday,
November 14. They played hard and were leading most of the game. However,
Collegiate South came back to win in the final moments. So proud of our
basketball team! Also, a special thanks goes out to Doug Wright, Alana’s dad, for
officiating. We will be playing more games in December…stay tuned!
Counselor’s Corner!
We are so excited that the TCC Northeast chapter of Phi Theta Kappa has been
working on a project with our students called "What's on Your Plate." The project
celebrates the many roles that students play in their lives and how they manage
everything they "have on their plate." Collegiate Academy students have created
artistic plates to display at a symposium in Center Corner on Monday, November
30th from 6:00-7:30 PM. There will be second symposium held at the Keller
Library on December 5th at 2:00 PM, if you are unable to attend the one on
November 30th. Please join us to see the outstanding creations our students have
made!
The Grapevine North Pole Express has arrived! Students may sign up for several
volunteer opportunities from now until December 24 in downtown Grapevine.
Students may go to the following link to sign up:

College Classes
Please help your student to continue checking their college grades
on my.tccd.edu. Your student has a login and password. If they do not remember
it they can call the TCC help desk at 817-515-8324.
There may be times you have questions about how to help your student advocate
for himself or herself in his/her college classes. Your student's MAPS teacher
would be happy to help with this. Please feel free to contact your student's MAPS
teacher with questions you may have as you help support your student's
academic success.
Brain Breaks-Learning to deal with stress is one of the most important things a

strategies to deal with stress they maybe experiencing regarding homework,
friendships and how to juggle the demands of being a college and high school
