The place I chose to describe and analyze is the Technology Support Center at the
Utep library. The room looks clean, there is a front desk where there is a young man
assisting. In front of that desk there are three single couches with a little desk
attached to them. Two of them are empty and on another there is a girl in a gray
sweater and jeans that is checking her Facebook account on her white Macbook. On
the left side of the couches stands a long wall where there are high chairs in small
cubicles where people can sit and do some work. Each cubicle has plugs to use. And
right next to the cubicles there are four computers that are shut down followed by a
door in between. As you look past the four computers you can see an entering to a
hallway, where not much can be seen except a window. Right after that unseen
hallway there is a television showing CNN in front of a pair of green and beige
patterned couches. Down the row of the couches there are eight gray desks, each
with four black chairs that have wheels on the bottom. Only two of those desks are
taken. In one desk there are two white guys sitting across from each other, one is in
a white hoodie and jeans and the other is wearing glasses in a blue hoodie also in
jeans and they are both on their laptops. In the desk behind them there is an older
white man in a San Antonio Spurs navy blue cap who is looking through a two-inch
black history book. A girl in a neon yellow sweater stands by him with headphones
on, carrying a pink Jansport backpack. Right next to the eight desks there are four
big desks with six computers on each desk. Each desk is divided into three sections
with two computers on each section. Only four sections are taken; two sections in
the desk at the front of the room, one section in another desk by the end of the
room, and the other section in the last desk in the room. I am sitting in the front
desk where I have two “Apple” computer screens right in front of me, as I look
around I can see my notebook, my pick binder and my white iphone next to my old
Kenneth Cole black purse. Right behind the computers I’m in, there is a group of
guys working on the computer; one of the guys is constantly playing with his ear
while another guy types on the computer’s keyboard. Behind them there is a girl in a
King Kong navy blue hoodies, with apple bottom jeans, who has her hair up, and
wears glasses. She is folding a two-feet white poster board in half that lays on top of
a desk where there are two computers being used, by two girls with brunette hair,
one that has a cheetah print hair band on and then there’s two computers being
used on the last desk by a guy who spiked up his hair with gel. The walls behind him
are red and one wall reads “Technology Support Center” in big bold silver letters.
The walls on the right side of the room have four doors with a window right next to
them. And two black printers are on top of a big rectangular gray desk that stands
by the wall.
