on to showing 6,7,8, and 9 using two hands. Tell children
we are going to be looking at number bonds. Explain that
they are very helpful and that the children need to know
them off by heart.
Count out 5 counters. Have 2 dishes. Put 5 counters in
one and 0 counters in the other. Say 5+0=5. Ask TA to
write number sentence on board. Move on counter and
then say 4+1=5 – ask TA to write number sentence on
board. Continue moving one counter at a time until you
reach 0+5=5. Read number bonds written on board.
