Seniors: If you forgot to order your cap, gown, or other graduation supplies from Jostens on December
3, drop off your orders to Mrs. Mead before Christmas break. After that, Jostens may tack on additional
LATE fees.
Attention all Band Students: If you have any money for raffle tickets or the band trip, please turn it in to
Mrs. Thomas or Mrs. Morris in the front office.
FCA will not meet Wednesday.
Auditions for the Mauston High School Community Musical will be December 17 & 18. Audition
information can be picked up in the front office or from Mrs. Tambornino.
There will be a Snowmobile Safety Course held on Friday, December 12th from 6-9 p.m., and on
December 13th from 9-12 at Germantown Hall in New Lisbon. The cost is $10 per student. If you have
any questions, call Rick Radcliff at 847-4349.
Book Club Members / Global Scholars Candidates - Please return the Kite Runner book to Ms. Casey.
Global Scholars if you need assistance completing the paperwork for the book review or service project
please see Ms. Casey or Ms. Luke. Next book club meeting will be in January. Title of upcoming book to
be released soon!
Part-time Employment Opportunity: The B.P. Pilot Gas Station in Mauston is looking for after school and

Senior College Financial Aid Informational Meeting
School - Room D109
- Wednesday, December 10 - 6:00-6:45 p.m.— High
A representative from the Student Services Office at UW-Colleges will present an overview of the financial aid
process. Although financial aid can seem intimidating and overwhelming, we will help you understand the general
terms, timelines, and application questions involved with the process. December 10 is also parent conference
evening from 4:30-7:30
Wisconsin Professional Police Association-For seniors enrolling in a college or technical school in a
course of study leading to a two or four year degree in police science, criminal justice, or a law
enforcement-related field. Apply by February 2. at www.wppa.com or pick up an application packet in
the counseling office.
Jan Ray Scholarship- $1,500 for several Juneau, Adams, or Monroe County seniors who have at least
a cumulative 3.0 GPA and plan to major in a social services , psychology, sociology or social work
field. Apply by March 15.
Alliant Energy Community Scholarship—
Twenty-five—$1,000 scholarships for seniors whose parents are customers of Alliant Energy (Wis. Power
& Light). Award selection is based on participation in a leadership role in community service activities and
volunteer work; academic grade point average; standardized test scores; and the content of a 300-word
essay submission. MHS had two recipients in 2014. Apply on-line
at ww.alliantenergy.com/foundationscholarship by Feb. 15.
Mediacom Scholarship- $1,000 for seniors who have demonstrated leadership and initiative in their
school and community activities. This is a regional scholarship that MHS has received in the past. Apply
by February 15 at www.mediacomworldcom.com or pick up applications in the counseling office.

These career presentations last 30-45 minutes. See Mrs. Mead in the counseling office for further
information. Open to individual students with interests in the particular career path or teachers may bring
their entire class to listen to the presentation.
