STEMS Study Guide Homework Directions:
MONDAY: Get STEMS List and Study Guide in Class. HOMEWORK: Make FLASHCARDS on Index Cards (you
may cut your index cards in half). One side has the STEM WORD and the other side the DEFINITION. Use these
cards to help you study your words all week. Keep these cards in a Ziploc bag.
TUESDAY HOMEWORK: Complete SENTENCE FACTORY by creating sentences that use words that include the
STEMS. You may use the dictionary to help you find words. On the back of this page use the Stems correctly in
a sentence.
WEDNESDAY HOMEWORK: Answer the MYSTERY QUESTIONS. Use the STEM Definitions to decide if the
statement is true or false. You may also check your answer with a dictionary. Complete the TOP TEN Section.
Write 10 words you know that use the STEM within the word.
THURSDAY HOMEWORK: Be on the lookout all week for STEM words in your classes, books, on TV or in
movies! Record what you find in LOOK @ WHAT I FOUND! Be sure to study for your STEMS QUIZ on Friday
using your flashcards and study guide!
FRIDAY: Take STEMS QUIZ in class and turn in Study Guide for a grade. Bring in your flash cards to study in
class and to receive credit for Monday’s homework.
