The Blue-Haired, Green-Eyed,
Tiny, Freckled, All-Around,
Weirdo
Melody was sad. She was so different! EVERYONE had blonde hair or brown hair or red
hair. NOT Melody! EVERYONE had blue eyes or brown eyes or hazel eyes! NOT
Melody! She was just a blue-haired, green-eyed, tiny, freckled, all-around, weirdo.
In her class, she was the ONLY weirdo. Even her friends (Jack, Sara, Jessie, and Audrey)
were normal. She always felt so left out, especially at school.
Her parents and her friends always said that she wasn’t weird, they said she was
“special”. One day her mom was saying how special she was. “I’d rather be normal!”’
she said and began to cry.
That night, Melody saw a shooting star! “I wish I was normal!” she shouted. Then, she
cried herself to sleep.
That morning she looked in the mirror….. And she was STILL a blue-haired, green-eyed,
tiny, freckled, all-around, weirdo! Melody cried again. Then she pulled herself together
and her mom drove her to school.
When she got to school that day she gasped. EVERYONE was a blue-haired, greeneyed, tiny, freckled, all-around, weirdo! Her wish came true! She was finally normal!
She was just like everyone else!! It was the best day ever!
Her happiness was immediately covered with confusion when she realized that she
couldn’t tell who was who! Eventually she found her friends, but they said she was
TOO NORMAL to be their friend.
On top of all that, she was getting a headache from trying to tell who was who!
Melody frowned when she realized that she wasn’t special anymore. Melody was
suddenly very dizzy….
The room started spinning faster and faster and then, Melody fainted right there in
the classroom. She was immediately rushed to the school nurse.
When she finally woke up the nurse sent her home, and told her to just rest. She got
home and went straight to her room. She cried and cried and cried and cried and cried
and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and
cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried
and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and
cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried
and cried and cried
That night, Melody was still crying. “What have I done?” she asked herself. “I’ll never
be special again, and I’ll never know who’s who and I’ll never have my friends again
and-and it wasn’t the best day ever, it was the worst day ever!” she sobbed. She just
wished that she could take back her wish. That night she saw another shooting star. “I
wish That everything was how it was before I made that wish.” She whispered. Then,
she fell asleep.
The next day she went to school… and everyone was the same as before she made the first wish!
“YES!” Melody screamed. She looked at all of her friends and realized that EVERYONE was a
weirdo. Just in their own way! Audrey had a broken arm, Sarah had a big nose, Jessie had really
big eyes, Jack had small ears, and so on.
Melody was SO happy! She was a blue-haired, green-eyed, tiny, freckled, special, girl.
Everyone was different, and she was EXTRA different. Her mom said, “You are such a special girl!”
Melody smiled “I know. And I love it!”
The end
Be happy
Once upon a time there was a girl named Natalia. She was ALWAYS so, so, SO happy!
Even when it seemed like there was nothing to be happy about!
There was also a boy named Skyler who was VERY VERY sad, all the time! Even when
there was nothing to be sad about.
One day, Jennette the fairy got mad at Skyler for always being so upset. When fairies
get mad, they glow red. She decided to cast a spell on Natalia and Skyler.
The next day Natalia saw a butterfly. She was so happy! “Maybe it will land on me!”
she whispered. It did.
Then, Skyler saw a butterfly… “It’s probably going to pee on me.” He cried. It did.
Then, Natalia saw a big grey cloud… “Maybe it will turn into cotton candy just for me!”
She said happily. It did.
That same day, Skyler saw a big grey cloud. “I bet it’s going to rain JUST on me all day!”
He groaned. It did.
Then Natalie saw a coconut tree. I bet a coconut will come to life and be my BEST
FRIEND!” She said. It did. It’s name was David.
Then, Skyler saw the coconut tree. “I am having such bad luck I wouldn’t be surprised
if a GIANT coconut hit me in the head and I broke my arm!” He sighed. It happened.
“I’m having the best day ever! I bet I will get a pretty puppy just for me!” Natalia
exclaimed. She did. Skyler was watching Natalia, and he realized that just because she
was happy, good things happened. Just because he has sad, bad things happened.
Skyler decided to try to be happy. “Maybe it will stop raining on me…” He said quietly,
and hopefully. It did.
Natalia smiled. “This has been such a good day!” Then the fairy flew down and said, “I
cast a spell on you and Skyler so that whatever you say comes true. I have to take
away the spell but you can keep everything. I also have a gift for you. It is a flying
tangerine.” Natalia gasped, “T-Thank you s-so much.” Natalia stuttered. Then the fairy
disappeared in a puff of smoke! So Natalia live happily forever!
“Hmmm… My day is getting better… Maybe I will get a magic penguin” Skyler said
dreamily. He did.
Skyler was SO happy. “Maybe, JUST maybe, I will see a HUGE rainbow!” Skyler said
slowly, wondering if his luck would last. It did!
The fairy smiled, her plan worked! She watched as Skyler grew happier every minute.
“I bet I will have a whirlpool of color in my backyard!” He exclaimed. He did. “I’m going
to be happy forever! It is so fun!”
ry flew down to Skyler. “Hello Skyler, I am a fairy. I cast a spell that made everything
d Natalia said come true so that I could teach you to be happy. I must take away the
ut you can still keep the stuff you got, except for the whirlpool. And, I am giving you
special gift. It is a reward for learning to be optimistic. You officially have your own
monkey.” The fairy said. “Thank y-” Skyler was cut off as the fairy disappeared in a
puff of dust. So Skyler and his flying pig, Harold, were happy forever!
The fairy flew up to her fairy castle in the sky. She is very, very, happy. She is glowing! Whenever
fairies are happy, they glow their color. “I hope everyone in the world is optimistic. It’s okay to get
sad sometimes, but be positive!” She tells her friend. So stay happy!
