Part I.
You are accountable for all the grammar lessons covered during quarter four, including
adjectives with commas, sentence fragments, run-on sentences, coordinating
conjunctions, comma splices, tense confusion, subject-verb confusion, apostrophes,
commas with appositives, and parts of a sentence (simple subject, subject, verb, object,
predicate).
Part II.
You are accountable for demonstrating good annotation skills on an unseen short story.
This skill includes notations regarding plot, theme, devices, and new vocabulary.
Part III.
You are accountable for demonstrating basic and thematic reading comprehension
using textual evidence.
Part IV.
You are accountable for demonstrating good annotation skills on a speech studied
during quarter three. This skill includes notations on purpose, message, speaker and
speaker’s ideology, intended audience, context, rhetorical devices, and figurative
devices.
Part V.
You are accountable for synthesizing your speech annotations into a formal outline. This
includes correct numbering/lettering, indentation, and logical construction.
Part VI.
You are accountable for writing two of the four paragraphs outlined in Part V. These
paragraphs must use evidence in the form of embedded quotation. The paragraphs must
be clear, correct, thoughtful, and thorough.
