Mexico, United States, and Canada have a free market economy also known as a capitalist economy


Consumer’s influence which goods are produced
Producers are allowed to determine what to produce, how much to produce,
and what to charge for their product.

Understand supply and demand: if supply goes down, prices go up,
if supply goes up, prices go down

Know the difference between a service industry (industry that sells services) and a
goods industry (industry that sells a product)

High taxes are placed on imported goods to encourage people to by their own

One rule government - dictatorship; few rule government - junta, rule by all - democracy
Unit 4 - South America
Recognize the affect of South America having opposite seasons than the United States
Unit 5 - Europe
Great Britain has a constitutional monarchy - a Queen but Parliament actually runs the government
Why would Germany’s male population over the age of 75 be less than some other countries in Europe?

Unit 6 - Eurasia
Eurasia is separated from Europe by the Ural Mountains
Most of Russia is cold tundra; understand how that climate could affect the country
