for employees that move into management positions?
It is in their best interest for these employees to succeed.
Promoting employees from within an organization will be less
costly overall.

employees rather than hiring someone off the street.
Again, it is less costly to do this. Employees are also already
familiar with the policies and procedures within the
organization. This can also be a motivator for employees to do
well and work hard, if they know there is a chance for
promotion.
4. Why is it important for a manager to have good
relationships with their employees?
As a manager, it is your job to lead and motivate employees. If
you don’t establish good relationships with your employees this
could prove difficult.
5. As a supervisor, should you always fire employees that
violate the work rules? If an employee shows up to work
late, they are violating the work rules. Should they be
fired on the spot? Explain your answer.

No, you should not just fire them on the spot. Use a three
step warning system. Step 1: Verbal Warning, Step 2: Written
Warning in personnel file, Step 3: Face-to-Face meeting ending
in dismissal.

with employees?
Supervisors or First-Line Managers
7. As a supervisor, why is it important to show employees the
importance of company goals?
If they don’t know or understand the goals within the
organization it will be hard for them to do a good job and help
the organization reach their goals. This information needs to be
communicated on a regular basis.
