similarities are most notable between this
style of architecture and buildings found in the

• Romanesque Architecture is the building style
wich were used between 800 – 1100 AD .
• The similarities between roman architectue
especially the roman ‘ barrel vault ‘ and the
roman arch .

• How was paper made in the Middle Ages?
How were early medieval books created?
- Early medieval books were painstakingly
hand-copied and illustrated by monks, the
greatest numbers of books during this era were
bound with plain wooden boards, or with simple
tooled leather. Paper was made with vellum,
made from calf’s skin, and parchment, made
from lamb’s skin.

take on while traveling during the Crusaders?
-The scholars and poets took on a new interest
in romantic prose due to the courtly love. The
literature expanded from the universities and
the scholars began to question convention and
write social commentary. They also began to
write poetic fiction. They also started using
capital and lower case letters.

• Because of what the books were made of.

tell about? Why do you think so many people from the
Middle Ages were interested in this work?
• The first of the three volumes, the inferno is probably
the best known and describes the afterlife for the
wicked where hell is comprised of the nine descending
circles and there is no forgiveness.
• People from the middle ages are interested of his work
because the an lowest circle w reserved for Satan and
betrayers of benefactors, kin, and country.
