The Present
Progressive Tense
 The present progressive is used to
describe things that are happening
at that moment in time.
 In English you will recognize it
because you will have the “to be”
verb combined with a second verb
ending in “ing”
In Spanish:
“estar”
+ ando/iendo
 AR Verbs
 Conjugate
the verb “estar” based on your
pronoun
 Drop the “ar” from the verb and add “ando”
She
is dancing Ella está bailando
 ER/IR Verbs
 Conjugate
the verb “estar” based on your
pronoun
 -Drop the “ER” or “IR” from the verb and add
“iendo”
They
are running Ellos están corriendo.
