Ex. 32:04 Aaron makes idol. 24 he lies about it.
32:9-14 God rage against the people and Moses efforts to pacify. 14 So the Lord changed His mind… The Levites
killed 3000 and then a plague came to wipe out the rest who had sinned by worshipping the Idol Aaron had made
for them.
Ex 33:07 Tent of meeting: Reverence, the people would bow in their own tents as Moses approached the Tent of
meeting. The Lord would come as a pillar of cloud and speak to him as a friend there. The Lord would no longer
travel w the people but in vs 14 would be w him, would give him rest and everything would be fine for him (Moses).

40 days and 40 nights

o A test in endurance, trust, patience, faith - Quality time with “Abba Daddy”
o Both Moses and Jesus were compelled by the Lord/Spirit to go. No food or water yet both were
sustained and unharmed.
o We moan at 40 hours of work each week
o We don’t wait 40 minutes for a table at a restaurant. (Share Richard’s birthday)
o We get impatient at 40 seconds at the microwave.
 40 days from today is Tues, March 30th
 Is there anything you can do or not do for the next 40 days. Just something to think about.

Offerings: the first blood spilled was Gen 3:21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed
them.



Burnt offering - Grain offering - Sin offering – Peace offering
o A male animal from herd of cattle or flock of sheep and goats. Male and free of defect. Turtledove or
young pigeon
o Grain – choice flour with olive oil and sprinkled with frankincense. If baked must be without yeast.
o Peace – male or female with no defects
o Jesus the final blood offering
In the old and the new testaments the common thread has been Gods desire to be with us; to make a way for us
to be with Him.
o Rom 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus
By providing us the gift of Jesus’ sacrifice or removing the need to continue blood offerings, has He enabled us
to be lazy and unappreciative? Do we not fathom what has been given to us? Or are we just so consumed with
ourselves to even consider the magnitude of what we have been given.
