• Click on a student’s name, and the above one-page report will be created
• Click on the blue disk to select a host of downloadable options, including PDF
13
Tips & Tricks
1.
Each report has a School Year filter to see prior year’s data
2.
Clicking on the title of the report will take the report “full screen” and allow you to see more things at once
3.
Most reports are multiple pages, clicking the single arrows will take you to the next page; while clicking on the arrows with a bar
will take you to the beginning or end of the report
4.
You can adjust the size of the report with this drop-down box
5.
Use the search box to select for a specific student by typing in all or part of their name
6.
Most reports have an “Excel – Friendly Version” link, clicking on this link will strip away all the formatting that tends to create
problems in Excel and provides a nicer downloaded report
7.
Any of the columns that have the up/down arrows after the name of the column means the report is sortable by that column;
clicking it once sorts is A to Z; clicking it a second time sorts it Z to A.

The Future of Compass
• On June 11, 2015 ACT announced the phase-out of all Compass
products by December 2016.
• The current eCompass system will continue to be used in the 2015-16
school year.
• KDE will work with our postsecondary partners to determine what is
next.
• KYOTE continues to be available in all subject areas.
26
Commonly Asked Questions
• Will Compass scores count toward CCR for students taking Compass for dual credit
at a college, even though Compass will no longer be available when they become
graduates?
• Yes
• How long will scores be available in Compass?
• eCompass through December 2016
• Compass 5.0 through December 2015
• What is the replacement for Compass?
• KDE will work with postsecondary institutions in the next year to determine
replacement options
• How can we know who is eligible to test?
• Tracking in the JCPS CCR Dashboard
• CIITS or IC Ad Hoc Report
27
ACT Compass
• College placement test administered through KDE and available to
grade 12 students who have not met the CPE benchmarks on the
ACT.
• College Ready Status – JCPS CCR Dashboard

KDE have instant access to student scores.
• Representatives may access student scores only if the student has
shown an ‘academic interest’ in the institution.
29
Collaboration with Postsecondary
• Testing at high school and postsecondary allowed
• Two Compass tests per eligible subject (KDE System)
• Follow guidelines at college/university for Compass testing
• Score report for postsecondary
• Electronic access at admission office
• Paper copy from high school
30
Second Administration
Seniors may take each
eligible assessment
twice.
Steps:
• Students receive intervention
• First ACT Compass administration
• Students who did not meet
benchmarks complete an additional
intervention (MINIMUM FIVE DAYS)
• Second ACT Compass administration
31
Reminders

Incorrect SSID
Students must test using their name and SSID as it appears in
Infinite Campus
Testing under an incorrect SSID may be corrected by:
• Editing the student record to enter the correct SSID, if no other tests have
occurred.
• Merging the two student records, if tests have occurred under both SSIDs.
KDE can assist with this process. Send an e-mail with the:
