The definition of a lawyer is to advise and
represent individuals, businesses, or
government agencies on legal issues or
disputes.
 They work on an always changing work
day.
 They help people with legal problems.






To become a lawyer is one of the hardest course a
person can get.
In High School, you need to take classes in the Law and
Justice and Government and Public Safety pathway.
In college, you will need 4 years of undergraduate
study and 3 years of Law school.
Some areas of law that someone might be interested in
are Basic Law, Comparative Law, Energy, Environment,
and Natural Resources Law, Health Law, International
Law, International Business, Trade, and Tax Law, and
Taxation Law.
After that, you will need to take the BAR exam. The BAR
exam is different in every state, so in every state a
lawyer wants to practice law, they usually must pass the
BAR exam.
The pay usually changes per lawyer.
 Most lawyers make about $112,760 or
about $54.21 an hour.
 In our area, lawyers make about
$140,280 a year.

The outlook in Georgia is a average
growth of about 14%
 That means about 689 people will be
hired in the state of Georgia.
 The national growth is a tad smaller than
Georgia, growing at a rate of 13%.
 From 2008 to 2016, this occupation will
open up 24,040 positions, more than
triple the national average of openings.


 You have Paralegals (legal assistants),
Judges, Mediators, Hearing Officers, and
Court Reporters.

Many colleges offer a law program in
their schools.
