Mobility, Traffic Solutions we are looking for a Process
Improvement IT Intern. The role will be to support the Field
Services department, working with the Field Process
Improvement Manager and Systems Team on business
improvement initiatives, from a technical IT perspective.
What are my responsibilities?

The role will involve supporting and implementing
various improvement projects, which require
technical IT involvement

Projects will vary in nature as per the
requirements of the business, but are likely to
include:
o Development of basic Android apps and
subsequent roll out and support across
the Field operational team
o Development, production and
maintenance of Management Information
reports, primarily associated with our InHouse Service Management Solution
InView, using SQL Server Report Writer
o Development of existing SharePoint
collaboration site, using SharePoint,
InfoPath and also potentially linking with
SQL databases
o Progression of Field tablet roll out, by
supporting projects to further utilise
these devices within the business
The successful candidate will have an eye for
detail with the ability to understand complex data
models
In-House Systems Training will be given in this
role but you will need to be prepared to work hard
and willing to take responsibility



You will need to listen to people, understand their
issues and handle medium complexity technical
matters

You will be expected to work with your manager
and colleagues in understanding the department’s
objectives and deadlines and planning your work
in order to meet these priorities
The role will involve communicating technical
solutions to non technical colleagues, both face to
face and via virtual meetings

What do I need to qualify for this job?
Required:





Familiarity and experience of basic app building,
including ability to work with: Java, Android SDK,
SQL and Third party libraries/APIs.
The ability to work with databases, spreadsheets
and reporting software
Experienced in report definition, writing and
publishing using SQL Server Report Writer
Knowledge and experience of SQL, Visual Basic
and Visual Basic for Applications
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office
applications including Access / Excel / Word
Desirable:

Knowledge and experience of ASP.Net MVC,
SQL Server Management Studio 2005 / 2008 /
2010

Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Visual
Studio ( in particular creating reports
using Reporting Services ) 2005 / 2008 / 2010
Familiarity with SharePoint collaboration sites and
InfoPath, or ability to pick up these applications

