Unit II:
Cell structure and function
Cell cycle, the cytoskeleton and cell movement, cell surface –
transport of small molecules, Endocytosis, cell –cell interactionsAdhesion junctions-Tight junctions-Gap junctions- Plasmodesmata

Cell signaling – cell regulation
Signaling molecules and their receptors, functions, pathways of
intracellular signal transduction–the Cell Cycle – Mitosis and Meiosis
–Cell death and cell renewal-Programmed cell death-Stem cellsEmbryonic stem cells and therapeutic cloning.
