Under the last year tax amendments taxpayers who are under employment may not need to file
their personal tax returns from the Year of Assessment (YA) 2014 onwards, rendering the amount of
monthly tax deduction as the final tax. Under the budget 2015, there is an amendment to allow
employees to opt for MTD as a final tax for those receiving benefits in kind and value of living
accommodation.
Many people will think that GST implementation is a task solely for the Accounts Department of a
company.
But in actual fact it impacts all aspect of a business spanning Accounting, IT, Legal, Sales &
Marketing, Purchasing, HR – and indeed impacts on Employee Benefits (via Human Resource).
The speaker will touch on the following topics
Recent development and updates from the 2015 budget that impacts both employers and
employees
 To update knowledge and latest information of 2015 Budget Proposals
 To enhance and keep abreast with the vital information that would affect the way you
compute your tax returns for the following year

discussion is made as to how to determine whether the property is subjected to Real
Property Gains Tax or Income Taxes.
 GST implications on the human resource or payroll system and its impact on GST treatment
on benefits given to employees.
 To highlight the implications on tax obligations of employers in the Budget 2015;
 Training expenses to employees in line with Goods and Services Tax (“GST”)implementation
is entitled to further deduction.
 To share real tax cases on employment income experienced by employers and sharing of
practical issues;

Speaker
Ms Yong Mei Sim holds an Honours Degree in Social Science (Majoring in Economics)
from USM, Penang and Master Degree in Taxation from the Golden Gate University in
San Francisco, USA. She is presently the Senior Assistant Director of Inland Revenue at
Bukit Mertajam, Penang and a Field Audit Manager for corporate sector.

CANCELLATION MUST BE IN WRITING TO FMM.
There will be no refund for cancellation within 3 days prior to the program. 50% refund for
cancellation between 4 - 5 days and full refund for cancellation 6 days prior to the
