Final Exam Tips for Success

Complete the two final review packets and check all of your answers. Circle/highlight any
problems you got wrong and retry those problems. If you are still stuck, be sure to get help.

Go over all of your unit exams as well as the unit 6 quiz. Be sure that you know how to do
all of the problems on the exams. Just looking at the problems and thinking that you can do
them may give you a false sense of confidence. If you have any doubts whatsoever, cover
up your answer and do the problem over again. If you get stuck, be sure to get help.

Review all of the terms and theorems on your BIG list. The idea here isn’t to memorize
everything word-for-word. Just make sure you have the gist of what the theorems are
saying. The BIG List that you have created is a great database of many of the most
important terms and ideas that we have studied this semester. Consequently, it makes a
great study guide for reviewing those important terms and concepts.

Make sure to bring all of your materials to class with you.

Be sure to get plenty of sleep the night before your final! All the studying in the world will be
of little value if your brain is too tired to remember, process, and apply what you have
learned.

Be sure to eat a good breakfast the morning of your final! Your brain will need energy so
that it can perform at its optimal level. You are asking a lot from your brain when you take a
final (or two); be sure to feed it accordingly.

Relax! As long as you study and following the guidelines mentioned above without waiting
until the last minute, you will do great.
