 California Community Colleges provide instruction to 2.6 million students per
year. 25% of the nation’s community college population.
 113 community colleges, in 71 districts making the CCC largest system of high
education in the world.
 CCC train 70% of California’s nurses, 80% of the firefighters, police officers and
emergency medical technicians
 CCC transfer 28% of the UC graduates and 54% of the CSU graduates
 Students who earn a CCC degree or certificate nearly double their earnings
within 3 years.

Admission
• Community Colleges shall admit all California Residents who have
attained a high school diploma or equivalent
• Community Colleges may:
• provisionally admit any non high school graduate who is 18 years of age or
older who can benefit from instruction.
• admit non California residents
• admit concurrently enrolled K-12 pupils

The Assessment
• Encourage students to take the correct English
Assessment.
• Encourage students to prepare for the Assessment
(just as they would any other important test like the
SAT, ELM/EPT, etc).
• Study review guides available on IVC website
• Get enough rest the night before, eat healthy.

Freshman Advantage
Program
• The early admission period is offered to graduating high
school seniors beginning December 1, 2015. Admission
opens to all other students on February 1, 2016.
• Freshman Advantage Early Registration times will be
assigned in the order that students complete the entire
admissions process.
• Freshmen must matriculate by April 15, 2016 to receive
Early Registration time.

Steps to participate
in Fast Fridays
• Complete Fall 2016 IVC Application
• Complete IVC Orientation
• Bring a picture ID to participate.
• Purchase a $5 parking pass if you need to park your
car.

Responsibility
Students are required to:
• Complete matriculation requirements by designated deadlines.
• Students who do not will receive a lower priority registration
time.
• Identify an education and career goal.
• Diligently engage in course activities and complete assigned
coursework.
• Complete courses and maintain progress toward an educational
goal and completing a program of study.
• Complete a comprehensive educational plan after completing 15
degree applicable units or prior to the end of the 3rd semester.
