All About Parties!

advertisement
THE LAUNCH PARTY
 The start of your business
 An opportunity to get your business off the ground
 An opportunity to introduce your friends and family to Scentsy
 An opportunity to get the HOST Rewards and start building inventory
Why is it important?
 You will get your first sales at your launch party
 You will get your first bookings- fill your calander!
 Help you qualify for the shooting star enhancement kit and Scentsational Start
Statistically, consultants who get off to a quick start and earn the shooting star and
scentsational start awards have greater long term success with Scentsy.
THE LAUNCH PART 2…
 Invite EVERYONE you know- instead of inviting them to a Scentsy party- ask if they will
help you kick off your new business and thank them for supporting YOU!
 Over invite
 Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, church family and/or social groups, soccer
moms, everyone you can think of!
 Fill out the 100 people you know form (under new consultant start up guide)
 Advertise your party on facebook, email, myspace, etc.
 Give out invitations everywhere you go (coffee shops, salons, etc.)
 Set up a facebook event
 Set up an online party thru the workstation and email the link out to your friends and
family.
 Great training on the training center that walks you through the how to set up the party.
PEOPLE REALLY WILL COME AND THEY DO WANT TO SUPPORT YOUR BUSINESS!
MORE THEN ONE LAUNCH…
 Moved to a new area? Re-launch your business!
 No reason you can’t do more then one launch!
 Visiting family during the holidays..do a second launch.
 Doing a second distance launch is a great way to book basket parties and recruit
too.
You can write off a lot of your trip if you conduct Scentsy business while on vacation
or visiting family: Airfare, Hotel, Mileage, Cost of Meals and more.
AT THE LAUNCH
KISS – Keep it Scentsationally Simple
 Keep your display, presentation, and food simple
 Don’t overdo it- people just want a fun time.
 The simpler it is, the more relaxed you will be!
PEOPLE ARE ALL ABOUT THE FREE THINGS
 Give little gifts when they arrive (scent samples, discontinued tester cups, etc.)
 Have a drawing or drawings (bars, scent circles, room spray, etc.)
 Offer incentives for bringing uninvited friends (scent circle, order discounts, etc.)
Offering some incentives and giveaways will definitely increase your turnout and
sales!
MAKE THE MOST OF IT…
 Remember you are the host of your launch party, you earn the host rewards AND
earn commission from it.
 You can use these for your drawing prizes, donations, or for stock on hand.
 Take advantage of breaking down your launch into parties of $400 increments to
maximize the number of ½ price items you receive.
 Make your launch fun- you can even do a theme party (ice cream social, luau, etc.)
 Make it simple and low stress
 When guests see you relaxed and having fun they are more inclined to do a party
themselves.
BOOKING INCENTIVES
 Offer an incentive to anyone who books a party
 If you can book initial parties, you WILL book follow up parties from them
IDEAS TO OBTAIN BOOKINGS:
 Booking bags (3-5 are a great number to have on hand)
 Mystery Gift Envelopes
 20-30 envelopes with different “gifts” in each envelope (certificates)
 Can be anything from 10% off to free full sized warmer
 Most should be small items (scent circle, travel tines, bars)
They receive their gift WHEN THEY DO THEIR PARTY!

 You explain products as guests come and go
 If you do door prize..you would draw at the end. Guests need not be present to
win.
Different hosts (and consultants) prefer different types of parties.
 There are pros and cons to both of them- just figure out what works best for you!
HOW DO YOU SET UP YOUR DISPLAY?
 There is no right or wrong way- try different ways until you find what fits you best.
 Try to keep it simple

WHAT TO SAY…
Keep your presentation simple. Should last 5-8 minutes.
1.
Introduce yourself briefly! My name is Tracy and I am a SSD with Scentsy.
2.
How many of you have been to a Scentsy party before? Great then you know how much fun we are going to
have! Thank the host.
3.
Invite all guests to watch you over the next few minutes to see how easy and fun your job is.
4.
Ask them how many of them like FREE stuff. Then either pass around drawing slips or Scentsy order forms.
Ask them to complete them fully including email address. Collect them and then do a drawing.
5.
Product demo
6.
Ask again about who likes FREE stuff and stack the host at this time and explain booking bags. Remind
them you only need $150 for host rewards.
7.
Ask them if anyone would like to earn an extra $600 and more a month. Show them 2-$100 bills and/or a
cut up credit card which will be next to your recruiting bags. You can also demo a serving size of cereal, an
airplane, car ,etc. to show what you do with your Scentsy money. Play $$ works great also.
8.
Game if desired by host (go to resources then party tools for lots to choose from)
9.
Then let the smellin begin.

games.
 Work the room when the scents are being passed around. Help them with
choices.
 You can even ask them if they want assistance and then one by one sit and put
their order together for them.
 If the party is to start at 630p then start at 635p. Do not wait for guests to arrive.
Make sure you are firm with your host about start time and reminders to guests.
If others arrive afterwards welcome them and then catch them up when scents
are being passed around.

BASKET/BAG PARTIES
Local Basket/Bag Parties
1. It is very important that you coach your host and give them all the tools and
information necessary to answer questions.
2. Always set up these parties online for out of town guests to shop.
3. I use the binders from Scentsy Success to put my basket party guide and
information in. You can find page protectors that fit these as well.
4. In my binder I have a catalog, order forms (10), WOTM flyer, campus collection
flyer, join and host brochures, business cards.
5. Decide what basket or bag you wish to use. I use the white dazzle bags from
Scentsy Success. They will hold a full size warmer, mini tester set, binder plus,
bar containing 2-4 cubes, other small items.

COACHING

Ask the host to contact you when she gets the product so you can walk her thru the catalog and product line.

Clearly define your payment policy..Do you want checks made out to you or the host. ( I only accept checks from the
host)

Set a firm return date for her to send back to you.

Determine if she is going to email you the orders, call with the orders or include in the box

I DO pay for return shipping

Your shipping costs are a tax write off, but you do need the receipts

Consider whether you want to do a contract or not.

Check in on the host

Help the host with the host rewards

Remind her free shipping on orders of $150. You will need to figure out her tax rate and update your basket party
guides.

Consider every basket party host a potential recruit..they are in essense selling the product for you with their party!
For both home and basket parties offer the parties to the host if they want to join. You will make way
more $$$ if they join and you get them trained up.
ONLINE PARTIES
 This is the same as a basket party, however no scents or product are needed
 You don’t have to send a host packet, however I recommend emailing it as an
attachment in case the host would like to have it for her information.
 Set up the party in the order section of your workstation
 Make sure the host understands the importance of the party guests clicking on their
name when ordering online. You CAN NOT correct this if they don’t.
 All online orders will auto direct ship and NOT wait until the party closes so will be
charged shipping.
 Set up ALL parties with an online option. Great way to add to your party sales.
 Encourage your host to promote their parties thru social media.
 You might consider keeping an “online orders here” party on your website so that you
an take advantage of host rewards for your friends and family members that order
from your website.
WHAT DEFINES A PARTY?
How about trying…
Stop and Sniffs…meet for coffee, at a party, on the bleachers, anywhere with 2-3 ladies and let
them smell the scents.
Impromptu Party…keep a party on the go with you at all times! You never know when you are
getting your nails done, walking to your car in a grocery store, etc.
Have lunch with a friend at a restaurant and pull out the scent samples and start
smelling. This will always gather the attention of others and you just might get a party
started. It only takes $150 in orders!
Mystery Hostess Parties..one of your customers becomes the host and gets the rewards.
Great to set up online or email out as a customer special.
